SISTER ANNIE McKIZZIE
Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her.
She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household is clothed with scarlet.
Sister Annie is our pastor’s soul mate, best friend and the glue that keeps the family and ministry together. She was born in St. Louis Missouri and raised in Omaha Nebraska by her mother Emma Shirley. She worked for Northwest Airlines for 17 years and she retired as a Guardian ad Litem with the Fourth Judicial District Court Hennepin County where she advocated for youth. She is a dedicated usher, part of the women’s ministry, directs the youth program the A.R.K. and works with the youth of NCBC.
Sis. Annie is an inspiration and an example to women everywhere who are balancing responsibilities both inside and outside the home. This is a fact since she is a wife, mother of seventeen and grandmother of seventeen. When asked what her favorite Scripture is she stated, 1 Samuel 3.
Sis Annie is committed to empowering women, children and families to connect and grow strong with a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ.
In closing, When we thank God for our pastor We must give Him thanks for two, For when your husband came to us God also sent us you.
A pastor’s wife must be many things, you have many hats to wear, and we say thanks for all you do and lift you up in prayer. You adjust your life to meet the needs of your husband’s congregation, and it seems that you can always cope with most any situation.
